What Brought Us Together in 2023

As we welcome 2024 with open arms, we want to take this time to reflect on the things that brought us together in 2023. Please join us in reminiscing on the past year!

Introduction of our Philosophy and Guiding Principles

At the beginning of September 2023, InVision CEO, Kim Love, announced our Philosophy and Guiding Principles that define our communication and culture. These principles reflect how InVision staff, people supported and their families, support coordinators, and other stakeholders experience our organization. As our philosophy states, relationships drive our success and are at the center of all we do—so while we may come from diverse backgrounds and possess different skills and life experiences, we come together and unite as a team of #allofus.

Nurturing relationships and defining who we are as an organization were at the forefront of our events and initiatives that took place throughout 2023.

First Annual Team Member Appreciation Month

InVision’s first annual Team Member Appreciation Month was held in September, celebrating the success of our team members. The month-long initiative featured Team Member Spotlights—highlighting InVision staff through the words of their peers, the people we support, and their families—a luncheon event for both our corporate and eastern offices, experience-based raffle prizes, and a company-wide gift of InVision branded drawstring backpacks, stress balls, cell phone wallets, and helpful benefit information flyers. Along with this, InVision’s managerial staff filled out hand-written “thank you” cards for each member of their team. Throughout the month, InVision also provided email communication featuring Team Member Spotlights, raffle prize winners, and other organizational updates.

InVision is always grateful for the dedication of our staff and are excited to have started this annual observance devoted to celebrating our team members for who they are as individuals and all they have accomplished as a part of our organization. With the success of this initiative in 2023, we look forward to celebrating #allofus again in 2024!

Quarterly Catch-Up

This past October, InVision held its first Quarterly Catch-Up, formerly known as the Senior Leadership Open Forums. These forums, led by our leadership team, were designed to create a safe space for open and honest communication regarding updates, priorities, and new initiatives within the organization. As the Quarterly Catch-Up sessions are led by Kim Love, CEO; Deb Hyatt-Burkhart, COO; Ray Herron, CFO; and Holly Wolk, CHRO; it is our hope InVision staff will also get to know our leaders on a more personal level. Quarterly Catch-Up discussions offer an opportunity for our team members to ask questions, voice their thoughts, opinions, and concerns, as well as hear from their colleagues.

After hosting the first three sessions in October, our leadership team utilized direct feedback from attendees to ensure the highest level of productivity for the forums as they are held throughout the new year. We encourage team members of all positions to take advantage of this opportunity to share their thoughts and learn more about InVision.

Summer Events

Summer 2023 was a time for bonding and friendships. Over the summer months, people supported by InVision, direct support professionals (DSPs), and office staff from both our western and eastern regions came together for events such as baseball games, a day of fun at Kennywood and Knoebels, and more. These events are made possible through InVision Foundation and are key to our success, as they reinforce the importance of creating and maintaining relationships. To read more about our summer events, check out our recent summer recap article.

Fall Festivities

In 2023, our program staff came together for the planning and hosting of our Trunk-or-Treat and Fall Fest events. These events, supported by InVision Foundation, allowed for persons supported, DSPs, and office staff to show off their favorite costumes and enjoy crafts, food, candy, and more.

Following these events, our program staff also planned and hosted Thanksgiving lunch celebrations for our organization, where everyone was able to share their thankfulness and favorite foods with one another. A special thank you to our program staff and the Foundation for another successful year of fall festivities!

Holiday Parties

To wrap up the year, InVision hosted our 2023 Glittering Green & Gold holiday parties for the people we support and staff across our organization. During the holiday celebrations, InVision personnel enjoyed lunch, music, a caricature artist, photo booths, airbrush tattoos, and holiday gifts—but most importantly, everyone across both parties enjoyed making memories of time spent together.

Along with these happenings, we are happy to share that the people we support continued to have opportunities to explore their interests and experience things that bring them joy with support from InVision Foundation. In 2023, InVision celebrated the publication of a book written by a person supported, the launch of our Birthday Bonanza program, and witnessed genuine smiles of those involved with grant-awarded experiences such as Robbie’s visit to Sesame Place and Ashley’s visit to the American Girl Doll store.

Thank you, InVision, for a year of coming together and great accomplishments. As we welcome 2024, we hope to continue the momentum of 2023 and look forward to another fulfilling year together!
