What is success? Google search will give you these definitions of success:
- The accomplishment of an aim or purpose
- The good or bad outcome of an undertaking
But let’s look at success beyond these rigid definitions.
At InVision, we often measure success through tangible milestones, completing certifications, earning promotions, or passing inspections. These are
absolutely worth celebrating, as they reflect dedication and hard work.
But success isn’t always loud or obvious. It often shows up in quieter moments—after a missed deadline, a scheduling error, or a failed implementation. These moments may look like setbacks, but what follows is where true success lives: in the learning, the growth, and the resilience that emerge. In this way, even “failure” can be a powerful success story.
I’ve witnessed countless examples of these everyday successes at InVision. One that stands out is when a person we support—who once expressed frustration through damaging behaviors—gradually learns to cope, find joy, and build stability. That transformation is a success. The team that supported them is successful. And our organization fulfills its mission through person-centered care to assist them in leading a meaningful life. That’s success in action.
Success comes in many forms. Recognizing and celebrating all types, big or small, personal or professional—is essential to a thriving workplace.
According to Indeed, celebrating success can spark
intrinsic motivation, the internal drive that pushes us to do our best.
So, I encourage you: take a moment to recognize a win.
Celebrate a colleague’s effort. Share a story of progress. These small acts build a culture of appreciation, strengthen our teams, and fuel future success.
In closing, thank you for the many successes you contribute to InVision every day. Your work drives our mission, shapes our culture, and inspires others. That is worth celebrating.
